Tomorrow, I'm singing for special music during the service. I love being able to do that. It's amazing to stand up there and look out at everyone praising the Lord together. I'm also on praise team so I get to be up there for 1/2 the service! It's one thing to be out in the crowd, singing along...an amazing opportunity that we have in this country. But to be able to look into everyone else's faces as they worship is beyond!
Anyway, I'm singing How Great Thou Art and while I know the song pretty well, I still get nervous about forgetting the words. So I'm going to type them out here to get my memory going.
I'm doing the Carrie Underwood version, which while it may seem like it's a country version, isn't so "country" (and I like it like that).
Oh Lord, my God when I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds thy hands have made
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout the universe displayed
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
And when I think, that God, His son not sparing
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing
He bled and died, to take away my sin
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
When Christ shall come, with shouts of acclamation
And lead me home, what joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration
And then proclaim, "My God how great Thou art"
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
