Kaden ate sweet peas today. Well, he actually ate some a couple of days ago too, but the fact that he would eat them again is exciting for me! He pretty much refused eating the rice cereal. Pediatricians like you to start out on rice cereal, get them used to eating something solid and get their stomachs used to having the different components.
But Kaden never would swallow it. He always pushed it out of his mouth no matter how thick or thin it was. So I told the doctor about that and she said he could skip it altogether and go straight to the baby food.
I tried green beans first. He didn't care for them very much. Then we tried sweet potatoes. He liked them better but still wasn't eating them very enthusiastically. Then we tried the peas and he seemed to really like them. I think he is just so content getting his food out of a bottle. He has always been a really lazy eater. When he was a newborn he would maybe eat an ounce at a time...even into his 2nd month. But he has finally gotten to the point that he can eat a full bottle at once. But now that we are moving on, I'm sure he's thinking how much of a hassle it is to have to eat something off of a spoon.
It's so amazing how fast this goes by. He sat up by himself yesterday! He's been doing a sort of tripod thing where he holds himself up with one arm. But he was playing with something and wanted to hold onto it with two hands and when he lifted up his arm to grab on to the toy with his other hand, he sat there, unassisted for several seconds. Amy and I just cheered and cheered and then he fell backwards. It was pretty funny. He didn't hurt himself at all. But it was so great. It was definitely a slow motion fall too.
He sat up again later while he was still playing on the floor. And again when he was in his pack n play, he was fighting off a nap and decided to start playing. Totally sat up on his own.
He is super super close to really crawling too. He can move backwards like a champ. He scoots himself. And he is really going for stuff too. Like the lit up numbers on the cable box at Amy's house. It's right there at his level.
Love it. He's just my little happy baby boy. He and Theona are playing right now. He's in his exersaucer, actually keeping himself pretty well entertained.
And as I typed that, he started fussing a little...
He's funny.
