Well, this afternoon, a Cook's guy came out. The SAME Cook's guy that came out before to set the poison out.
Well, he looked in one of the poison traps and saw that the entire block of poison was gone. Apparently it takes a lot of mice to eat a whole thing.
So yeah, just like I suspected, we have a family of mice living here.
He set out more poison. He even went into the attic. We aren't allowed to have access to it because of the asbestos! Seriously, we have asbestos in the attic!
Anyway, there's a lock on it and housing has the key, but we don't have one. They loaned Cook's guy the key so he could set poison up there. Loren went up there with him. There are definitely mice living up there. They didn't see any because they had all scattered. But they saw all the poop.
He set 4 up there.
My fear is that they'll start dying in the walls and we won't be able to get to them and they'll stink up the whole house.
But the Cook's guy is coming back at the end of the week to check the poison. And he said he'll come back whenever we need him. If Loren is already deployed and I find a dead one, or smell a dead one, he said he'd come out and take care of it.
That makes me feel a little better.
So for now, we just have to wait and see what happens.
